Erny - Your Bright Horizon and Flickering Flame are stunning!!! Great blooms on Splash and Living Legend.

Ed - Nice to see Rocket Fuel (one I'm considering getting) and Pinot Noir.

Darren - The more I see of Ay Caramba, the more I like it. Fantastic blooms on Splash and Living Legend for you and Erny!!! Interesting bloom on Tahitian Christmas.

Well the winds were howling here today. Hard to take photos in 20-30 mph winds but I did my best. Quite a few new blooms. Acapulco Gold, Creole Lady, Yuletide and 1st bloom this year on Tahitian Antique Purple.

Bill, I think your Mystery Purple is a 2004 release from HVH named Crystal. I sold some of them to Armstrongs so it is possible you could have gotten hold of one. The flower is usually fairly large - in the 7 to 9 inch category and the bush was very strong. Below is a photo.

A lot of people noticed that HVH is surrounded by fires. Thanks for the well wishes!

Cindy and I barely made it home last night as I-15 and the roads accessing it were closed just minutes after we made it past. Cindy's school which is near my greenhouse is closed today due to fire danger and air quality issues.

The property HVH is located on is 1 big block away from the Camp Pendleton Marine base, where a 6000 acre fire is still raging. The base bulldozed a huge fire break between the base and the private land adjoining it so if no super strong winds are present it should hold the fire back. Luckily, winds are light for this kind of Santa Ana fire condition. There are 3 other fires that potentially could threaten us right now, but none is spreading in our direction so far. It was odd to see so many fires pop up in one afternoon - suggests arson but no news about that so far.

Anyway, all is well at the moment and shipping continues full speed ahead.

Bill, I know what you mean about the difficulty taking good photos when the wind are blowing. The flowers just don't want to pose properly. The winds have died down quite a bit today so that is good news for Charlie and others who are surrounded by fires.
Cinnamon Splendor opened a couple of blooms today after resting for several weeks. Always a pleasure to see that one. Also Rodeo Drive, Thunder Egg, and Flickering Flame.
