Still a lot of rain today - when it rains it doesn't rain, it pours like crazy...very unusual for us. Maybe a taste of El Nino as they are predicting it to return this fall.

Nice photos Darren. Here are some of mine that survived the big storm with winds up to 50 mph yesterday. I suspect that those who live in other parts of the country are probably rolling their eyes over what we in southern California call big storms. It looks like that hummingbird nest won't be big enough for the two chicks much longer. It reminds me of our thinking when my wife and I bought our current house just after I semi-retired. We made sure it was big enough for the two of us but not big enough to accommodate adult children or grandchildren on a permanent basis.

Good to see you have plenty of plants blooming again Erny! Also looks like the rain is mostly done - we got 5" here since Wed night. Now time to dry out and I'm sure the hummingbird chicks are glad to see it end...and is that some green I see now coming in on their feathers!

Quite a few blooms today after the rains have gone. It is interesting how the red and white cvs go to pure red in winter as do the reds with white or yellow spots. The first is Corazon today followed by two shots of its summer bloom. Then the same for Heartbreak Hotel.

Those with the swirling eye pattern don't seem to be as affected by winter temps as the red & whites. Dragon's Breath and Creole Belle are two good examples. Also from today: Peanut Butter, Acapulco Gold, Rainbow Christie, and Gentle On My Mind.

Erny it seems like the plants really liked all the rain. I was worried it would be too much but something about the time span for it to soak in really works better for them than us manually watering them or the drip system. I learn something new constantly...
Your HH blooms are fantastic - mine are still super dark with a few hints of spots...

I put this ladybug in my seedling growth chamber to help out with the battle I am having with aphids in there for a few months now. Looks pretty fat so I think I will add some more...
