I'm getting all the pests at once now - on the positive side I can kill them all at once too instead of fighting different outbreaks over the next several months.

Darren, your blooms are a lot more prolific than mine. Have you been spraying regularly with the Supernova? I haven't sprayed at all during the winter and I wonder if that is a factor. Has the mother hummingbird returned to the nest or do they abandon it after the chicks are gone? My first spring bloom on My Blue Heaven today--showing why it will always be one of my favorite flowers. Also Silver Dragon, Magic Crystal, and Venetian Brick.

Hi Erny - Your blooms today look to be in great form!
I have not sprayed once the entire winter with Supernova as the weather has been outstanding after a couple of cold weeks in early December. I know you have had some heavy wind events where as I had none here fortunately. I think those colder winter wind events really take their toll on the hibs. I would most likely spray with Supernova right after to help them bounce back. Lucky for me no need to as my sprayer has finally died so I wouldn't be able to anyways.
I also am noticing that the plants closest to my sprinkler heads do the best too with a constant source of water. With your whole front yard facing south I bet your plants would really take off if you were able to implement some sort of sprinkler set up. With this dry winter I would bet your soil is already quite dry.
Other than that we both feed with a drip system though I also drench my planter with ferts to as the dripper only get a small area around the dripper. I see roots quite far from the plants so I bet that helps a lot. Not sure how big the holes are that you dug for your plants...but if you have plants that only have leaves towards the end of branches they are under watered in my opinion.
Darren

No sign of the hummingbird chicks - momma chased them off immediately and I haven't seen them since their maiden flights. She is still queen of the front garden - I guess to be so she can't mess around...
