There are definitely some more Pinot Noir coming along. They won't be ready to ship until after spring shipping, probably June or thereabouts.

I'm with you, Denise. Where have all the Pinot Noir gone? Actually, many did go overseas earlier this year and we rarely get forum posts from people who do not speak English as a native language. That is too bad, no language needed to post photos!

Below are some photos taken at different times of the year that show the different colors Pinot Noir shows in different conditions. There's a cute one of a small plant in a 4 inch pot that bloomed last winter.

Thanks Charlie. It really does look like it has a true purple to it, which I love. Someone posted a picture of one in the June 2011 blooms and it was lighter than these but still definitely a true purple. I've got my eye on this one!

Here's one from me, taken at night.  I haven't seen too many blooms yet from my Pinot Noir.  I gave a her a good, hard prune when she got here in April, and she's just now catching up with the others.

Pretty one, Jordan. Lots of purple from the cooler nights. One of the things I like about Pinot Noir is that just gets better each year you grow it. My 3 year olds in 5 gallon pots are big and bloom multiples often and it continues to branch out more each summer. It was smart of you to improve the "foundation" of the plant by pruning while it was still young.

Charlie, this one is great.  I think the prettiest of the FF series.  All my plants are under or around a year old.  Some are growing lopsided, should I give them a hard prune now?  Like Gator Pride is totally growing funky.  I would love to chop it down.  Do you suggest now or in the spring?  Now would be better for my indoor space issues, but it is a great bloomer.... see my dilemma?

Kristen, I prefer pruning in fall and transplanting in spring. If you wait until spring to prune you won't get flowers until late summer but if you do it in fall they should start blooming much earlier. If you want to get winter blooms as well you can always leave one or two branches alone so they can bloom and then prune them later. This is actually safer for the plant because it allows the unpruned branches to continue to provide energy to the bush while the new growth is coming out.

Good luck!
