There are definitely some more Pinot Noir coming along. They won't be ready to ship until after spring shipping, probably June or thereabouts.

I'm with you, Denise. Where have all the Pinot Noir gone? Actually, many did go overseas earlier this year and we rarely get forum posts from people who do not speak English as a native language. That is too bad, no language needed to post photos!

Below are some photos taken at different times of the year that show the different colors Pinot Noir shows in different conditions. There's a cute one of a small plant in a 4 inch pot that bloomed last winter.

Thanks Charlie. It really does look like it has a true purple to it, which I love. Someone posted a picture of one in the June 2011 blooms and it was lighter than these but still definitely a true purple. I've got my eye on this one!

Here's one from me, taken at night.  I haven't seen too many blooms yet from my Pinot Noir.  I gave a her a good, hard prune when she got here in April, and she's just now catching up with the others.

Pretty one, Jordan. Lots of purple from the cooler nights. One of the things I like about Pinot Noir is that just gets better each year you grow it. My 3 year olds in 5 gallon pots are big and bloom multiples often and it continues to branch out more each summer. It was smart of you to improve the "foundation" of the plant by pruning while it was still young.

Charlie, this one is great.  I think the prettiest of the FF series.  All my plants are under or around a year old.  Some are growing lopsided, should I give them a hard prune now?  Like Gator Pride is totally growing funky.  I would love to chop it down.  Do you suggest now or in the spring?  Now would be better for my indoor space issues, but it is a great bloomer.... see my dilemma?

Kristen, I prefer pruning in fall and transplanting in spring. If you wait until spring to prune you won't get flowers until late summer but if you do it in fall they should start blooming much earlier. If you want to get winter blooms as well you can always leave one or two branches alone so they can bloom and then prune them later. This is actually safer for the plant because it allows the unpruned branches to continue to provide energy to the bush while the new growth is coming out.

Good luck!

So nice pictures, thanks all! And I'm with the same question again is it only for grafting?  :)

All the Pinot Noir plants we ship are rooted. It is not the easiest or most reliable to root but it does root and should not need grafting.

The first Pinot Noir that bloomed was white and yellow and I immediately thought I was shipped the wrong CV, but every bloom after that looks normal. Beautiful flowers and has been blooming a lot.

I had the same thing happen, Gil. I thought it was the wrong cv, but each bloom after the first looked more and more like PN as time went on. Must be the stress from shipping.  :D

Here is a cold weather look of Pinot Noir from Oct 8th that some of you may have seen before.      If I recall the temperature dropped in the low 40's for a few nights, and I brought this inside the house the night before it opened.     Photo as is but cropped and re-sized.

Mid summer Pinot Noir.    After 5 weeks of bright sunshine with temps in the 80's 90's with a gradual cool down dipping into the 50's this Pinot Noir had the perfect blend of warm and cool colors.

This winter I'm going to keep Pinot Noir in front a NE window.  Last winter I put Pinot Noir under led lights.   I want to see how well Pinot Noir does this winter without led lights.

Day 3 with most of the reflexing stopped the left bloom was 8" and the bloom on the right opened up to 9".
I rarely get more than 1 or 2 days when Pinot Noir is outside.     Pinot Noir makes a great houseplant.

Interesting color changes, Kyle. Pinot Noir is one of the most variable flowers.

Kyle those are some extraordinary Pinot Noir blooms photos you posted here.  Those colors are so strong and clean.  I love how it blends both burgundy and grey into the petals.  A color combination I would never have imagined together....

Here is a PN bloom at my parent's home in Valencia from this past summer.  It was the only bloom they got like this for the year as we are trying to figure out how to keep their hibiscus outside year round even though in the winter it gets down into the mid 20s.
