Kristen, nice pictures of your blooms and your new greenhouse. We don't get to see Vin Extraordinaire and Moonstruck very often. It looks like your husband did a fantastic job on that greenhouse. We don't really know each other but based on the available evidence I would have to say that you married very well.

John, beautiful colors on your blooms. My excitement for the day was the first blooms on Flickering Flame (another Darren-inspired purchase). What a beautiful flower on a great plant. And Darren, I see your point about the foliage on Palm Springs. The leaves are attractive enough for it to be a foliage plant. Also from today: Ruby Tuesday in sun and shade Rocket's Red Glare

Fabulous blooms everyone!
Erny Flickering Flame is another one of those plants that is beautiful even without the blooms. It has the darkest and shiny gorgeous green leaves. Then you add in the striking blooms and WOW!

Wow Darren and Erny,
Your yards are in full bloom! I hope to someday be able to grow some of my plants in the ground and have them put on a show yours are!

Kristen - you mentioned getting a lot of petaloids. The only thing I have ever noticed that seems to encourage petaloids is using potassium nitrate (HVH Booster) on the plants. A few varieties are genetically set to show petaloids on most blooms but others that usually do not show them can do so after treatment with Booster. I like seeing them but probably would not want to see them on all the flowers.
