Hi Chris,
Welcome back! Were you able to get a new place with some windows?
Indigo Fire is one of the darkest flowers I've grown, along with Black Cherry, Dark Angel, and sometimes Blue Moon. Indigo Fire and Dark Angel are offspring of Blue Moon but what they got from it was the darkest expression of Blue Moon color and not its occasional very blue appearance. Indigo Blue averages an inch or so larger than Dark Angle which is most often seen as a mini (under 5 inches). Dark Angel is probably the darker of the two but they are very close. Here is a recent photo of Indigo Blue taken with the new camera which does a better job with most colors than my older ones.

Hi Charlie, Glad to be back! South facing windows, so I think that qualifies as sunny  Indigo fire is such a deep blue color, are u currently propagating it? |

lol kerry, how many cvs you at now? I just counted that I am at 17 O_o. I dont even want to think about how many I will end up with after the store opens in January, I am already saving lol. I love BC, I am really looking forward to getting one next year, I am also hoping for creme da la creme, vin extrodinaire, and silver dragon. (Crossing fingers atm)  |

Hahahah Chris ! I have 22 and counting LOL ! plus the 17 seedlings  and the new ones that started to sprount I want creme da la creme, renaissance blue, some like it hot. |

LOL wow, your collect has grown quite a bit! Hopefully once you get some of those seedling to bloom you can get rid of the non keepers and make more room. Uh oh for January |

Charlie which would you say is better
Dark angel or Indigo fire ?
I would like one of the other. I said dark angel at first but I probably would not need both since I would like blue moon also.
I also like black cherry if you can manage to get them growing.

You're right - Indigo Fire looks a lot like Blue Moon. Dark Angel is the one that gets my attention because it is really very dark, heading toward black. Not truly black yet, but a very dark gray with a trace of blue in it. As a seedling it rooted, but all cuttings the last couple of years rotted before they rooted. It looks like it will need to be grafted if there will ever be any more of them.

I will do my best to come up with all requests. We have another hurdle to cross, which is Cindy's Waiting List. She is a mother bear when it comes to me jumping the line for "my" friends, so it wouldn't hurt to use the Waiting List form she has on the HVH site. I know Chris has used it but if you have not Lou you will find it here: http://www.hiddenvalleyhibiscus.com/pages/waitinglist.htm To complicate matters the Europeans have figured out various ways to buy US cultivars and the demand from that sector for many varieties is more than we can handle. I think the shortage for a lot of US cvs will continue for some time due to the amounts being ordered from Russia to Germany and elsewhere. Unlike other international customers who order 1 each of a lot of different varieties these new Euro orders can be for 20 Creme de la Creme for instance. We won't allow all the plants to go overseas by any means, but the supply is still going to be tight for many cvs. sigh....I'm glad the interest is there, but I wish production was better able to match it. Lora is a pretty blue toned flower that was popular awhile back. Did you have it before? I do have one still and it would be a good thing to get some more plants of it spread around. We're talking next spring or early summer before it could be ready but I'm happy to add it to the to-do list.
I have a lot of photos of Lora, and photos of offspring of Lora, many pretty ones but no longer with us. Here's a bush and flower close-up.
