Best time to repot

I currently have my largest Hibiscus overwintering in one of my greenhouses. I want to repot it soon though as it's been in the same pot for a few years, the plant is leaning terribly and the pot is breaking to pieces whenever I try to pick it up to move it. When is the best time to do this? If it makes any difference I live in Central Texas, zone 8a

Hi Chris,

If your plant is awake and growing and your greenhouse is heated then I would recommend to do it as soon as possible.  If your plant is dormant or struggling due to the time of year then wait until it starts to produce a lot of strong spring growth and then go ahead.

Thank you for the reply. It had been blooming inside until around the end of Dec but now it seems to be dropping leaves. I have a propane heater in the greenhouse however the Hibiscus sits at the back and probably doesn't get as much heat as the plants up front. I'm thinking that waiting until early spring would be my best bet.
