Just wondering if this one is notorious for slowwwwwwww  opening for anyone else

Brenden,
Well done what you did with Valentines Day.   Not sure if this is a 1st bloom but if it is they can take longer to open up.   Sometimes if a bloom  takes a while to open they stay open for a few days.   

If you consider the time year, the days are shorter and the sun's position is much different in the sky compared to the summer so the plants react differently.    You may not be getting as much sun through the window so the bloom takes longer to open.    After Oct. 1st I consider myself lucky if any of my houseplants bloom and if the blooms actually stay on and don't fall off before they open.

Yea it completely  opened that EVENING. Amazing  colors.  I'll come  home  to  the  next  one  opening. The 2 to  3  more blooms  growing. My golden gate  has 6 to 7 tiny buds growing. It will be a first  for that one too. Then the 3 y old lila has shown  no signs yet.
