Are sunburnt leaves dead leaves?

I just put my plants out for Spring, and they did get a little burnt. I simply don't have time to bring them out slowly. Anyhow, they get a slight silvery burn on the sunside of the leaf. It's not a brown crispy burn, but more of a silvery glaze. They still seem springy and alive, are they functioning?

Bradley, what I have seen is that the leaves will last for a little while and then turn yellow or brown and fall off. New leaves grow out to replace them quickly because the plants are basically healthy and not sick with fungus or other disease. They are locally damaged but not systemically affected, so a quick recovery is likely. The new emerging leaves that are in the sun from the beginning will be fine.
