leaf Cupping

All,
I have potted plants that are displaying "cupped leaves", and I am trying to work through the source.
All plants are potted, so nutrients and watering are controlled. I have been dealing with the usual leaf sucking pests that may contribute, but this is also being monitored. What I think the problem may be is the plants lack of ability to circulate fluids to outer branches. Many of these plants are in an older, possibly dense soil. Another thought is the roots becoming overheated with the temps we've had recently. On a side note, most of these plants at blooming normally.
Any thoughts or ideas are openly welcomed.
