Hats off to Charlie for the 2 gallon plants as they are really something special in both size and health.
Muy Caliente is a really fun bloom and boy this plant came loaded with buds...

Darren, I would like to also say thanks to Charlie for offering the 2 gal plants, for those of us up north it really helps out. I still have some 4" plants that haven't bloomed yet that I ordered from a couple years ago, just not large enough, too short of a growing season up here. Here's a bloom from today, Marrianne Charlton.

I would like to join Darren and Patrick in thanking Charlie for making the 2 gallon plants available. Considering the size and condition of these plants they are one of the great bargains. For those of us getting on in years anything that shortens the wait time for blooming is most welcome.
Some from today: Pocahontas, City Slicker, Funny Voodoo, California Beauty, Deep Waters, and valentine's Day.

I'm glad to hear the 2 gallon plants are working out. We plan to offer more of them each year although it will be more of the newer varieties and fewer of the older varieties as this program develops.

Darren, T. Orange Rainbow and Illuminati are very impressive. But I wonder about Cherry Glow. Is it as orange as it appears in the photos? I would also expect to see white spots since it is coming out of that hot greenhouse.

Again not much in the bloom department but the few are very nice...
Did find my first spider mites today on a potted Bridal Path leaf - they were very pale colored trying to blend in with the yellowing leaf they were on. Can you add in Kontos to your fert mix in a drip system? That would be very efficient if so.

Yes, Darren, you can add Kontos to a drip system along with fertilizer. But, it is very expensive to use it this way and for that reason I do not do it in the greenhouse. It is only effective when used continually at sufficient strength and that truly is not cost effective.
Bug blasting with water is a good alternative. Spraying with hort oil is pretty good but spraying with Avid is the most effective way to eliminate mites. Also, the predator insects in your garden will help and are usually all that is needed. However, do not allow the outbreak to become widespread as it can be very hard to eliminate it once they spread all over the yard.
