Darren, fantastic display by Valentine's Day and Acapulco Gold. I really like the bush photos. Here is a picture of my Hot Pepper. Not the greatest photo but enough to show the colors. Also Palm Springs, Cindy's Heart, Valentine's Day, City Slicker, and Velvet Illusion.

Erny thanks for showing that pic of Hot Pepper. I would be really surprised if mine is truly Hot Pepper - your's is exactly what I would expect HP to look like.
Your Palm Springs is just amazing to say the least. This time of year it is at it's best with a mix of colors before a lot more red that dominates when the summer weather sets in. Also that Cindy's Heart is so full of color too! Just gorgeous all around for your blooms!

Thanks to Erny I got Sun Shower as his giant bush showed me that in ground it can overcome the sprawling bush it is known to have. I am in love with the blooms - another hot, tropical color fest.
Also just love Rise and Shine - so uplifting and bright and first really nice bloom for MC this season.

Rebecca, I love your Sun Shower. Mine are barely starting to show a few spots.
Darren, Miss Congeniality is looking good. I don't remember you showing that one before.
Magnifique is just starting to bloom for me. This one is two or three days old and not a full double yet. Also California Beauty, Valentine's Day, Black dream, and Love Story.

My Sun Shower blooms are full size but showing very little spotting so far. Also Burnt Saffron, High Voltage, Tahitian Taui, and a couple of oldies-- Jazz and Special FX.

Wow Rebecca - summer colors and half the country is still experiencing winter and snow...
Erny check out the cultivar discussions for Miss Congeniality, it really amazed me when it first started blooming 2 yrs ago so I posted lots of pics of her there. Last year was minimal as I pruned it and it was very slow coming back - also replanted it too so double whammy. I've got to say today's bloom I just loved and reminded me immediately how special this one can be. A couple more pics now that it is done reflexing after opening.
Also got my first Prosperity bloom of the season, this one is off of my "back up" that I got in case my original one didn't make it. This is actually the first bloom ever for this potted plant that has been waiting around just in case...
The bush on Scarlet Beauty is really something else. I got it as a 4" baby back in summer 2010 and it has grown steadily into what now is turning into a monster bush that is very lush which is pretty impressive considering it is in one of the hottest spots in my garden. Love the lavender highlights!

Scarlet beauty is something special Darren, fantastic.
A few from this weekend...
Silver Dragon: Still rebounding from the move, but it gave this pretty nice bloom
Queen Victoria: Two different blooms on different days. Really like this one alot, such a nice fancy bloom in unusual colors. For those lusting for Creme de la Creme, I think that Queen Victoria is a good alternate to CDLC flower wise. Both have big fancy blooms, brown body with blue/purple overlays and nice red eye. Queen V is also alot more vigorous than CDLC and probably makes a better landscape plant. CDLC is a special one, but I think Queen V is equally as special.

Darren, my experience with Scarlet Beauty is the same as yours. The bush is excellent and the blooms are large and live up to their name.
Chris, it would be interesting to see how Queen Victoria does in the ground here. I planted Creme de la Creme last summer and it grew well and flowered well but regressed some and defoliated to a degree this winter. I see some new buds now and it will be interesting to see if it rebounds now that the nighttime temps are higher.

Chris, your Queen Victoria is spectacular.
Darren, I moved my CH outside a few weeks earlier than my other hibiscus. The spider mites were getting to them inside. CH seemed to be the only ones they went after.

John those are both extraordinary blooms to say the least with your Cindy's Heart being off the charts. That is really something to get such a well defined eye on that one! What are you feeding your plants these days? Impressive!
Chris I'm curious who you would target for crossing QV? That is an interesting one to work with...

Check out the difference in appearance for SOT (from previous page) after one full day in partial sun. Once my plumeria leafs up the fade will be a little less pronounced but still quite the change...
