Darren, nice bloom on your Scarlet Beauty. Mine gave me its first spring flower today and it was full size and richly colored. Also Burnt Saffron, Rose Quartz, Herm Geller, Silver Dragon, and Black Dream.

Lots of flowers today. Unfortunately some buds came before I sprayed with spinosad so some blooms are scratched. The hot Santa Ana winds the past few days haven't helped appearances either. Sizzle is a great bush and produced three nice flowers today. Magic Crystal continues to put out multiple blooms on almost a daily basis. Also Hollywood Starlet, Persian Rug, and Wild Grape.

Erny I am just amazed at how much those Santa Ana winds really effect the hibs negatively. It was windy here Monday & Tuesday with humidity around 10%. My plants looked like crap afterwards and were just starting to rebound when you came to visit (I think you saw them at their worst of course).
It seems humidity levels both in the air and soil really have a significant impact as much as anything else from what I am seeing this winter and spring. That is one of the reasons why I added bark chips on top of my soil for both in ground as well as potted plants. We'll see if it makes a positive difference.
By the way Erny I love your Scarlet Beauty, Burnt Saffron, Magic Crystal and HH blooms...

First bloom of the season for Midsummer Night and still getting some dark deep colors on Black Dream which tells me my hibs are still not in full spring mode yet.

Darren, your Sea of Tranquility is off the charts. Your photo captured what I saw in person there on Thursday--fantastic. I hope Charlie does bring back Rodeo Drive. Didn't you tell me you weren't sure that your Hot Pepper was properly labeled? That picture you posted doesn't look anything like my Hot Pepper. It has put out a few blooms recently but the flowers have been somewhat wind-damaged so I haven't posted any. I'll see if I can get a decent one to post in the next few days.

Yeah the SOT blooms today are very special. Looks even better now after sunset, actually many of the blooms do.
As for my Hot Pepper I am fairly certain it might be a cross that accidentally got labeled as HP. The interesting thing was Chris did some great detective work a couple years ago here on the forum and found another post from a gentleman in Kentucky who had the identical looking blooms too. He also heavily fertilized like I have so we all thought that must be why they look so different. I haven't fed my plants since beginning of Feb and to still get identical looking blooms makes me think this isn't Hot Pepper. I kind of like the name of Sonic Pepper but these are Charlie's creations so if he wants to it is his call as to their name.
Interesting shot of AG as you can see how much better foliated it is below the wall line. My experience with AG has been it prefers shade to sun but when planted in ground it eventually overcomes this trait as the weather gets into her preferred zone which might be soon I think...
