Pinching ?

I used to pinch my fuscias with my fingers , is this the same method for hibiscus ? I googled pinching and saw people cutting the buds off ?

Thats what I do on the 4" babies,  I think the larger sizes need more of a prune, usually about 1/3.  Pinching the tip on the 4' side works for me.
