Hi everyone,

I've started experimenting with rooting cuttings and have run into something unexpected.  Occasionally I will pull a cutting out of the soil to check for callouses or roots, and have found tiny, white bugs crawling on the portion of the cutting that's down in the soil.  They particularly concentrate themselves in the areas I wound the cutting to expose the cambium layer.  What are they?  Are they termites?  If so, should I be concerned about my house?

Thanks!

Jordan did anyone every answer this for you?  Cause guess what I've got crawling around the soil on a couple of my seedlings now...Little white bugs on the soil.

If no one knows or answers within a few days I'll just spray em.  I'll see about getting a shot or two of them before I do anything.

No, nothing yet.  I don't think anyone knows.  If I see them again, I was going to water Safari into the soil that my cuttings are in.

Jordan how tiny are they, like too small to photograph tiny?  I thought they could possibly be springtails otherwise I haven't a clue.  I have very little confidence in my guess so I didn't post it earlier.

They are to small to photograph.  I just looked up springtails--  they actually resemble what I saw.  I haven't seen them again, fortunately.
