A very nice Rainbow Sherbert to start the year, huge bright colourful blooms and my favourite cv.

Fantastic, David!  And thanks for starting the 2012 Hibiscus Photos of the Day. Note that I changed the Board name this year from Hibiscus Flower Photos of the Day to Hibiscus Photos of the Day. This due to the many great bush photos that we all are finding instructive as well as the great flower pics.

Beautiful blooms David. My Peppermint Drop is solid red now but still beautiful. Looking forward to seeing its warm weather colors.

Here are a couple of pics of Flickering Flame aka "Late December mystery" and one of Ruby Tuesday.

Happy New Year to everyone!!!  Good times here in Hollywood with a serial arsonist and temps today of about 80F (26C).

Dave it never even crossed my mind that that was Flickering Flame!  I am so used to how mine look...it is amazing and exciting how each CV can vary so much with the unique environmental conditions it grows in.  Yours is absolutely beautiful.

David Wood your most recent Pocahontas has finally convinced me to get my first brown CV (when available again).  How would you describe the bush and vigor of it?

Today I now have 11 blooms at once on Acapulco Gold and a killer bloom from Valentines Day.

Black Dream - the dark side of the hibiscus force...

Nice Blooms Darren!

I am glad you are trying out some brown CVs Smiley  Pocahontas has an amazingly nice compact and well branched bush.   Charlie describes its growth habit more here:

Thanks Kerry, I am having a bit of a Golden period at the moment and will have a heap more later today, I need to clean the garden first, still rainy season here and makes a right mess, also I have my daily battle with Mealy bugs beetles and caterpillars which I have to tackle each day.
I just wish more people would join the Forum and post pictures, there must be loads get bought and we never see again, its a shame as its great fun and so enjoyable.

Darren its a wonderfull bush, very compact, a bit on the smaller side than most of my others but in your garden will probably be much bigger.

Darren I have it as well , I agree with David. I may actually put mine in the ground so I will see how that goes. Mine is smaller than davids ATM. some of the hibiscus I bought from a local collector where a bit neglected so I am turning them around slowly. I will take pics of the plant Tuesday.
