David - i really enjoy seeing the pics you post. Your plants and stands are beautiful. Are you born and raised in Vietnam? How do you have time to take care of so many plants? Do you work or are you retired? Your patio is lovely!!! It looks like a vacation destination of mine:-)  |

WOW Kerry!!! That is a thick thick forest of hibiscus. I think you need a machete or something to just make your way through there...is this where we are all headed one day??? I'm already eyeing my in-laws house for future ideas - oh-oh!!! Great stuff - can't wait to see the green house! Farmer D |

David I love that Bridal Path bloom!!! It is still my favorite of them all. My BP has been growing well this season and has multiple buds that look like they won't fall off finally. Hopeful by mid-November we'll see a bloom or two. My BP has shown me that it just doesn't like much water (heat lover for sure). Even with added booster not a big difference so I am going to change out the soil (organic planting mix) to palm/cactus mix along with Sea of Tranquility, Midsummer Night and Crystal Pink. They are all behind my plumeria tree and even though the soil only gets hand watered by me apparently without direct sunlight on the ground it doesn't dry out enough for these guys (and no more evidence of spider mites). John that Cinnamon Splendor is a show stopper. I am not a big brown fan but I really like the clean colors and the form is perfect. How is the plant on that one? Today was my catch up day as I SN sprayed and micro-cleaned all 70+ plants. A lovely chunk of my day to say the least but overdue. Check out the Scarlet Beauty pic, it is a good example of how the red pigmentation can quickly fade in strong sun - was about 85 today and really dry Day 2 T Princess bloom - even after fading it is still a striking bloom  Farmer D |

wow im flattered darren.....I get really nice blooms ...I just wish they were as abundant as yours..thankyou though ....I also worked with my hibs today...repotted some and moved some around...quite relaxing after my busy week...oh and I just feed with hvh fert and booster...nothing special....... and thankyou denise and maureen for the nice compliment.....lynette

Lynette, your CH is outstanding. I never get that much pink in my climate.
Darren, Cinnamon Splendor is upright but doesn't appear to branch out on its own. I will prune it back in the spring. My favorite brown is Frappuccino. Nicer bush also.

Awesome Blooms everyone! Darren I would also check out the mix that Len posted for potted plants, I grow all of my plants in Fox Farm soil blends, Ocean Forest and Happy Frog, and the plants go nuts! I get very heathy root balls on those plants I use those products on. Kerry had some problems with Happy Frog having some fungus gnats, but being outside that wont be a problem since usually the top layer of soil dries out enough to prevent the food (fungus and algae) that the gnats like to eat. Ocean Forest is newer to me, but so far I am very happy with the results from that. I forgot to mention that if you are using much larger pots, be sure to put some boken terracotta pots or two inches of clay hydroballs on the bottom of your pots to make sure that the drainage holes do not clog or get impacted! |

Farmer D, amazing the way cooler nights change the colors in Midsummer Night and Deep Waters. The blue gave way to red/orange pigments more than I expected. They look pretty both ways. Nice to see the soothing yellow of Rise and Shine as well.
