Loise would it still be ok to give them a spray if the sun is on them, I have often thought about doing it but am a bit frightened it will burn the leaves.

Thanks Darren and Louis. Louis, I have some great shade, just as you described... I may try to move them there tomorrow. I was always under the impression that they want intense sun. But I guess with CT weather, it is not a consistant thing, which causes headache for them. I will try more booster. Should I add it to the houseplant formula? Or should I go back to the mix your own with HVH fert and super nova?

Kristen I like Louis' advice, I would try the dappled shade first and see what that does. If the results aren't what you want then I'd add a little booster to the SN & fert mix of your liking tweeking as you see fit. Today's blooms... hi again everyone.
david, do not spray plants in the sun. water droplets act like little magnifying glass and will burn the plant.
best to spray in the morning before it gets too warm. the spray will add moisture and will wash the bugs and dirt off.
and do not spray in the evening as the wet leaves can and will cause mold. you want the plant to dry off before bedtime.
kristen,
i have had good luck with daily small dilution of the household fert and once a week, use the booster all by itself.
if you have dappled light, that is the best. my plants are not in direct sun and are happy as a kid in a candy store.
how do i know, of course, they told me with their big blooms.
hope this helps, remember what is good for me may not be good for you. but is a start

I finally have something to show you! Here is Sunny Wind (that I am attempting to make into a standard, Cindy's Heart, and my very first seedling that appeared yesterday (Im calling it Griffin for now). Hope you enjoy. (You can read about Griffin in the 2011 seedlings section, and see more photos of it. It's a pretty compliment to CH as it matches the hot hot hot pink center)

David congrats on your first Rainbow Sherbet. It is a really fun bloom and yours is a really pretty first one. Way to go... John it is amazing how many blooms you're getting out of your Cindy's Heart. Everyday just about and what a CV to see so often. Great stuff! Today's blooms.. Yeah - finally Bridal Path.
