Ghost was definitely my "child," DarkHorse, so if you're crazy, I am too! She was our constant companion, and all of us miss her - even the hibiscus, I think! Here's one of my favorite pics of her in the flowers. |

I can't wait to see more blooms on my other culitvars. So far some of my other hibiscus are growing pretty fast. The voodoo I have is buding a lot now. I have a small lady bug who is growing new branches I give your fertilizer and booster an A+ I am also happy the weather is getting hotter |

I've seen these petaloids more often on Wild Thing, parent of Heartbreak Hotel. Like father, like son I suppose.
Yesterday I came across a new variety named Gypsy Rom that was blooming. It looks remarkably like Heartbreak Hotel but is Lookithat x Bonnie B. Strange cross since Lookithat is a mini and Bonnie B a big, heavy textured flower. This flower is 7-8 inches and the best part for the hybridizer is that the awful bush of Lookithat was not passed on.

The resemblance is uncanny. If it is a good bloomer and grows more quickly than heartbreak hotel, I think you will have a winner:)

Yes, if you can make a similar color with a bit more foliated bush and a bit faster grower, that would be a bingo.

The temperatures have dropped at night where I live now HH is blooming in more of a solid color finally. I will post some pictures once I get out of the office.

Heartbreak Hotel does root, but not reliably. If you stick 10 cuttings you are likely to get 1-2 rooted plants or occasionally a few more.
