Hello everyone,

I bought this plant from HVH last fall as a 4 incher. Since i have been using the new fertilizer, it has doubled in size and has numerous buds. it should bloom for the first time in about a week.

It is supposed to be a large bloom, 8-10 inches, which i like.

does anyone have any experience with this plant?

thanks,

louis

Lou, see the current Mystery Game bloom for another look at Raging Bull in winter. What I am wondering about is whether your flowers that are about to open in your winter greenhouse will be more like Dave's mystery bloom or a typical summer bloom. Your greenhouse is exceptionally hot (wish I could afford that for 30,000 square feet!) so it might be more of a summer flower. Anyway, below is a typical summer look - bright red with some spots. In hotter places like Texas and Florida it might develop more spots.

Charlie are there any more Raging Bulls coming up this year?  I regret not snagging it last time it was available.

Here is a photo of my Raging Bull that opened this morning. I got home late and this is a late in the afternoon shot.

I look forward to the day my RB has blooms that look like Louis' bloom.

I must say that the really dark one I had was very enjoyable as well and I look forward to more dark winter time blooms from Raging Bull during this stretch.

My Raging Bull plant seem to be in a happy zone finally and boy the blooms are something special.  It also seems like it is quite the bloomer too with quite a few buds on the branch ends.  I was scared I was becoming disappointed with this one but that has faded the second I saw the first summer bloom recently.

This one is just amazing in person to see.  Very striking and large, the eye is really interesting as it is white with some swirling but from a distance it give it a blueish or lavender hue even though I don't see any of that color pigmentation there.  Add the yellow spotting and this is a gem!

Darren,

Your blooms look great, ours isn't in the ground like yours but even in a pot we love the shape of the bush. The bush is a fast grower for us here, I can just imagine how large it would get in the ground.
