Cool weather bloomers

Hi everyone,

I was hoping to get some ideas as to which CVs in your experience had the best blooms while the weather was cooler, like spring and fall?  It seems like some varieties actually have nicer blooms when the weather is cooler, Cosmic Gold is an example.   Huge orange and yellow blooms, very fancy, while in the Colorado summer the blooms were smaller and yellow.  Sleeping beauty is another one that goes from pretty to WOW when the temps are cooler.  Samba Dancer is one that I thought was better in cooler weather, but david has shown us it can bloom in hot weather too, but I would really like to see a huge 8 inch bloom of that one with those colors!  Charlie under what conditions did you see Samba Dancer with those 8 inch blooms?

I would really like to hear which other CVs are better cooler weather bloomers.  Need to extend my bloom season as much as I can and maybe my fellow northerners can look at this list too

Saffron has been rocking the house over here... I have a bright reddish orange bloom right now that is 8".  It has been blooming all winter, in my cool house.  Although I do have a bright window which is hard to come by in Seattle.

i have found moonstuck to be great in the low light of winter.

Good question, as you've seen from my pics Black Dream has been amazing in cooler temps.  Way prettier than in summer when it is more like a brick red.

I also agree with Louis with Valentines Day, really dramatic colors in cool weather.  Both of these plants seem to grow on very strong and vigorous plants so you don't have to baby them much.  Also my most prolific bloomers.

moon is a great plant. i have used it for crossing. it has set seeds for any plant that i have crossed with it. no failures. i like it for its bold colors and huge bloom. she needs and wants lots of fertlizer to keep the blooms big. highly recommend.
