The more I look at this cv's page the more enamoured I become with it... I read it's a good grower and a midsized bloom, but how's it to take care of, Charlie? Do its colors seem reliable? Any more photos?

I don't know much more about Blueblood yet. The first flowers were intriguing and it thrived well enough for their to be more plants available than I need for establishing stock plants of it. In about 6 months we will know a lot more as the cloned plants take shape and have been blooming in 8 inch pots prior to being transplanted to 5 gallon stock plant pots. The color is unusual and the name fits it well so we shall see if it performs up to current expectations.

As a matter of fact, I did just take a Blueblood photo the other day. The plants I have of it are in 8 inch pots and have been growing well, and blooming well for the last month or so. They are tall, upright growers and I recently cut wood from most of them. I want to see how they grow back now, how bushy they get after this pruning. The flowers are pretty consistent in color from one to the next, about 6-7 inches.

It looks like Bluebood won first place at a Lone star hibiscus show in July. Here is the winning bloom, I really like this look alot, but I do not know how often it looks like this. At any rate, congrats are in order!

This Blueblood was entered by one of our new members - another Cindy in Texas. She emailed me to tell me about winning with it, so it's cool that you posted it, Chris! Cindy said she and her husband had 2 blooms that morning and the show was in the evening, so the blooms had to last all day and into the evening, when the pic was taken. She also said these were the first blooms on her plant, and often the first blooms are immature and less pretty. So it bodes well for Blueblood in Texas heat.
