I don't know if you know how to do this on the forum, but it would be pretty cool to have a live chat area, that you could discuss topics with people on the forum who are on it at the time.  I sometimes find that we play thread tag when people are on at the same time, lol Tongue

That is a great Idea , but someone would have to monitor it all the time ! too many people will try to get free advertising on it and start spamming it if no one is watching.
I am not sure if Charlie has had any trouble with bots or spammers on the forum?

I have a dog forum and we have been spammed a few times and we had some dude trying to advertise on our little shout box lol

You're oh so right, Kerry. When we first started the forum we got signups every day from spammers. Lots of them pushing Cialis for some reason. lol

Cindy tightened up the security and they can't use bots to sign up anymore but we still get some humans trying to do it. Although it would be fun, she doesn't think we can make it work, at least for now.

Nice idea, though.

I would love to resurrect this thread. After being an IRC moderator and server owner in the past, I usually look for active chats instead of forums. I could appreciate the desire to freely chat with another hibiscus lover, and would welcome the opportunity to try an application. As I do not want to either associate this idea with HVH's superior level of quality, nor discourage the idea; with Charles and Cindy's approval, I could investigate further. I have found only one other chat about hibiscus, and it appears dead. The knowledge contained in these forums is in-exhaustive and should be shared. I have learned so much more in the few months at this site, than I ever would on the web.

Hi Ed, it's great to hear that your experience with the forum and web site has been useful. That's the idea behind both.

Cindy and I have talked it over and we're not going to go ahead with a live chat at this time. Lots of potential problems we want to avoid.
