I have what I think is a Rainbow Christie but the tag on the plant states: 1732 Purple Crystal, 1/13/02. Any ideas?

Wow, that's an oldie!  In 2002 we had a lot of Rainbow Christi plants, but that was about when Purple Crystal, often just called Crystal, was in good supply, too. We'll have to go by photos of the flower although a bush description might be helpful. R Christi tends to grow into a round shaped bush, about as big around as it is tall. Crystal grows very upright, with thick strong main stems that are long and straight. Crystal has a large, light lavender and purple bloom, while R Christi has a large flower noted for the large dark eye. Photos tell the tale best - if your supposed Crystal looks like R Christi it probably is. Here is a photo of each - Crystal is first.

I'll have to wait for this year's blooms but I'm relatively certain that it is Rainbow Christie. Thanks for the input Charlie.
