Last year I lost Tsaritsa. Winter 2017 I was going through last of the moving boxes and found a single bag of 1 seed marked Tsaritsa X Prom Queen 2014. I will say the 2nd summer seedling not doing so well. The flowers have been mainly 7" by my surprise and been lasting 3 days in 90F. Prom Queen is somewhere on forum. I call the seedling Padparadscha pad-pah-raj-ah like the pink sapphire. The untreated sapphire has purple hints. Charlie can I send you some wood and ask you to grow it and see how it does? It's on the right track but winter is coming. A couple flowers this month from Padparadscha.
A tropical depression or remnants have parked over Ohio for 48hrs with 1 more night to go flushing. Alota cool rain but my hibiscus are set up to handle it but at same time I can go a day or 2 in 90F without watering.

Somehow made it to 3 days. Ivory edge fades a little but might have come from Prom Queen pod parrent.

The other day I mean it's been hot a Seductress caught me off guard and I was totally into it. There was something about the shape, color, and how it looked with the foliage with a slight reflex for 2 days. She hung around for 3 days. The previous post was a 2nd day flower labeled 3 day. This Pinot Noir bloom was the warmest and most blue ever had with Pinot Noir. Took couple weeks of 90F to get that blueish silver in my conditions.

The photo with black leaves is me dusting organic nutrients on some chlorotic leaves to green them up and focus canapy. The dew wetted and pooled up on leaves overnight. After 36hrs, I misted with my sulphur\water and rotated standing water with fresh waster but was still black. Some dripped off and was wasted but it did absorb in leaves and cover in bio film. All those photos of Padparadscha were after I dusted. Some flowers were the next day or days later after the dusting. 90F+ in direct sun was ok with raw organic nutrients. I wanted to try the dusting earlier this summer but waited.

Thanks Kathleen, I'm looking forward to showing you what I did this year because I think I know why some of our problems are what they are and how to correct it without spending that much $ with the exception of new hibiscus. It's all making sense now. I just need to see what happens as Fall and Winter approach with my own hibiscus. Kyle

I look forward to it, Kyle. BTW, can you tell me what potting mix you use? I would like to be able to get the mix that Hidden Valley Hibis sells but I simply cannot afford to buy it and then have the added cost of shipping it from California to Florida.

Long time no post, I have been super busy, and the summer has been a cold one! My home in the East Bay of the Bay Area, has rarely seen the sun, let alone temperatures that get above 65F. So the hibiscus did not do a lot of blooming until recently (early September through now). The photos are the best of the bunch from all summer, and especially the last two weeks. Cosmic Gold and Rocket Fuel plants have been blooming the most despite the cold, and my Energy Blast's blooms lack the typical warm weather patterning. Everyone, I cannot get over your flowers!! Thank you for posting such lovely images!!

Dainty White is getting ready to go for it, lots of little tiny buds starting to show up, it has grown about 4 feet high since last year.

My Island Queen plant has produced 3 blooms so far this year, but each one is at least 11 inches across when fully open, just amazing for a young plant!
