Wow!  You have Delicia Amoris.  That's another one I've wanted for a long time, not that I have any room left for it now.  Of course that wouldn't stop me from buying one if it showed up in the store, hint hint Charlie.  Not very subtle, LOL

Please keep us posted on your experiences growing them in the smaller pots. I'm finding that some of my newer arrivals that I had already moved up to 6" pots are growing so vigorously that I may need to consider another move to 8" pots.  Those would be Torch Song, Fabulous, and Rocket's Red Glare.  Most of the others seem content in the 6" size so far.

Will do Dave,  Rocket's Red Glare is a slower grower for me, it blooms really well in the 6 inch pot ive had it in for about a year now.

Delicia Amoris is one that I like because it is supposed to bloom well in indirect light.  I need to get sleeping beauty so I can cross them.  If they can have sun tolerant impatients, why not shade tolerate hibiscus?  I have plenty of windows that dont get direct sun, so it would be nice to have a plant that should bloom in those conditions Smiley

Hey Charlie,

Would Scarlet Beauty be comparable to Velvet illusion?  My Velvet Illusion is a trooper, hasnt grown much, defoliated and now it looks like its growing leaves again!  I agree it is a weak bush, so if SB is a similar flower, that would be great Smiley

Chris, for many of us men, Scarlet Beauty and Velvet Illusion will be similar. However, according to Cindy, women have more color receptors in the eye (or something, I forget what she said exactly) and can see more shades of color. Not sure I'm buying that but my point is that each of these flowers has very subtle differences that may make or break a cv for some people but won't even be noticed by others. Velvet Illusion has been strong but it doesn't branch well nor bloom often. Scarlet Beauty is a far better overall plant and blooms are plentiful. I'm looking forward to photos later this year from people growing the new varieties.

Ditto.  I've already ordered 6 or 7 so far this year and still have no idea where I'm going to grow them.  Cheez

Lynette, I think you will like growing some indoors. Cindy and I love our inside blooms and the lush green plants help clean the air and add a nice feel to the spaces they are in.

Dave, it's too bad modern life doesn't support such things as "barn raising" among neighbors. Get a bunch of people together on a weekend and build you a greenhouse in 2 days!
