The forum had over 240,000 page views in December, close to a record for number of pages opened in a month! Thanks to all who post here, sharing photos of our favorite varieties with people around the world.

Below is a photo of an older variety that still holds up well - Wild Dream. We have a few for sale this year as well as several seedlings that had Wild Dream as a parent.

Happy New Year to all!

Fantastic blooms Cindy! Rags to Riches is awesome and the plant is just as impressive too!

One of my favorites lately here has been Red Cadillac. A prolific bloomer and you know how those reds get nice and dark in winter. Just stunning with the large sized blooms and petaloid action.

Wow, they are stunning, Darren! I love that hibiscus too! If only it were easier to propagate..... The story of so many beautiful cultivars!

This is 'Glamor Girl.' The big dinner-plate size flowers were very formal looking when we named this hibiscus, but now the flowers are getting wilder! Our Glamor Girl is sowing some wild oats, I guess!

This is 'Energy Blast.' Orange isn't usually one of my favorite colors, but all these crazy-blooming orange mixes may be changing my mind. Cindy

Always a pleasure seeing the blooms from the greenhouse, thank you Cindy.
Darren, definitely one of the coolest reds with that winter look.
The winter colors this year are really nice from everyone. Love em.

I'm getting some blooms this winter mainly because I didn't have to hard prune all my cultivars.
I pruned, but selectively or selectively hard pruned if there is such a thing.
Trust me I'm having my fair share of bud drop, buds not opening, and brown crispy micro buds.

I have been freezing since Nov.  I know it's cold in my home because I can tell my flowers are cold by their color and lack of vigor.    Unfortunately I can't afford to heat my home the way I did in the past when I had free heat.
This winter my houseplant's conditions are about 7-8 degree F colder than previous years.
The temps are consistent but 7-8 Degrees F colder makes a big difference for houseplants.

Pinot Noir is starting to bloom again.  The winter burgundy look is to die for.
Not enough light to take good photos, but here are some blooms from the last couple weeks.

After pruning  Language of Love for 6 months the cork has popped off the bottle and producing 9" whoppers.   Totally surprised by the texture.

I've had a thing for Claire De Lune for a while now.
I'm going to give Clair De Lune a whole different perspective.
Kyle

Dark Energy twins today.
My camera can't pick up all the colors correctly with low light.   Along the edge it's brown and the body is  darker in person.   The body is like midnight navy blue.  Looks black at times and  Navy blue at other times.

Funny because I've never been a fan of Mooreas, however I have seen a few last year that I really liked.
I'm into space and astrology so this and Dark Matter are must haves for me.

This Pinot Noir bloom is one of my all time favorite looks.

Wow, Kyle, those are gorgeous blooms! You can't tell your hibiscus are struggling with the cold!

Clair de Lune is such a fickle flower. It can bloom in so many colors, and then fade to pure white in hot weather. We love watching to see what it's going to do too. Plus it's always so big and blooms so much.

We have to keep our greenhouse cooler these days too. The costs of heating are too high everywhere. We don't get the crispy flowers like you do, but because of the humidity in our greenhouse, we get flowers that go limp and melt into mush. It has been especially bad with all the storms for the last couple of weeks and no sun to get blooms to open properly. We have a sunny week this week though so hopefully they will perk up! I'll try to find some more to post. :-)

In the meantime, it's nice to get to enjoy yours and Darren's!

Kyle - the quality of your blooms and bloom photos is always very impressive. A total joy to view each time - I hope people around you start to discover the amazing beauty you have growing at your home. You should be on the local news at least!

Even though it is winter and most blooms have muted colors and features I find some actually look better or are so different they are equally as enjoyable.  Here are two that bloomed today that qualify for this.
