Stock Plant Sale this Saturday

We're going to do something unusual this Saturday, June 13. The HVH greenhouse is bursting at the seams with plants and we need to make room! Most of our overstock is with our 2 gallon pots of stock plants that we use to take cuttings from in order to make new plants each year. As the number of varieties we grow has gotten bigger, we just don't have room for all the stock plants.

So, we are going to offer a limited number of these 2 gallon plants at discounted prices - from $22 to $30. Usually the retail price we sell these at is $45. The plants this year were mostly about 6 feet tall but a few weeks ago I cut them back to under 3 feet. They are regrowing bushier and more beautiful than ever but it will take a couple of months for them to start blooming again. Cutting them back allows them to ship for a far more reasonable price than trying to ship 6 foot high plants.

The first sale of 2 gallon stock plants went very well - thanks to all who participated.

We are going to do it again this coming Saturday, July 11. We will be adding in about 70 new plants in 2 gallon pot size, perhaps 50 different varieties at well under retail price. Remember, these were all 6 foot plants that we've recently cut back to under 3 feet tall so they can ship in 36 inch tall boxes. They should regrow beautifully and bloom this coming fall.

Change of plans I'm sorry to say.

This morning Cindy came down with acute appendicitis and this evening had emergency surgery to remove her appendix. Fortunately, all went well but she is sleeping in the hospital tonight and hopes to be allowed to come home later on Saturday.

So, the update scheduled for Saturday has to be postponed. She thinks it might be possible to do it on Sunday instead but will post a message herself once she feels better and determines when the update will be.

Well, I woke up this morning to find that Cindy has already completed a quarter of the update. She feels better and has been cheered by the nice notes people have posted and sent to her.
