I love it when a first bloom totally blows away my expectations for what I think it might look like.  Scintillating has definitely done that for me as I was not expecting any sort of banded pattern to it as per the online store picture and description.

Banded blooms are my favorite and this one does it in a unique way with such a large gold band with a splashed border and then a small little orange edge just to make it extra interesting.  Also the color combination is very different with the soft pink eye zone and pink rays heading into that orangy-red middle.

This one has me hooked and then some.  The bush is very nice with attractive mahogany branching and large leaves.  It is also budding up nicely at the moment.
The last shot shows it faded mid afternoon

Great feedback, Darren. This is what I hoped the forum would communicate. I learn a lot from you guys who grow our varieties in real life situations.

I had to stop and look up this one, great flower and name.    The eye from Saffron in pink does it for me.

I am on a mission to get this one to sell out one day. It is a must have for any grower. It checks off all the boxes for a top tier exotic hibiscus plant. It blooms year round in any weather, is super lush, branches with nice thick branches with ease, seems to like all weather conditions and the blooms are like neon. After growing it for several years now and can say that the color of the blooms in summer weather is super bright and uplifting. And the photo here of the whole plant is what we dream of when we buy these plants. Let the photos do the talking...
