Blushing Peach

The picture on the home page made me buy this one. I hope to get it big with as many blooms next year

Charlie my Blushing Peach has 3 grafts, the original rootstock and then grafted twice more above. Not a problem as far as I can see except that if I ever get growth below the graft I cut it off, thing is I have growth below the second and third graft, now assuming all is correct the top graft will be Blushing Peach, but is it likely to be the same below, I cant imagine you would graft a root stock on to a root stock so what I am asking is there are any chance that the two scions below [one 5'' and one 3''] are not Blushing Peach, would be quite nice I suppose if they where and I would leave the growth on.

Hi David. We must have some confusion somewhere. Blushing Peach is never grafted by us - it is a plant rooted from a cutting off of Blushing Peach. No scions, the entire plant is genetically Blushing Peach. If you want to posts a photo of what you are seeing that might help.

Bit of a disappointment, the first photo shows the lowest graft and the second photo shows 2 and 3 grafts. Very small leaves as well if that's any sort of clue to what it is.

David, those are not grafts - they are where the plant was pruned in an attempt to get it to branch more. What happens after the prune is that a new branch shoots out from the node just below the cut (and other lower nodes if it reacts as we want it to).

No worries, though, it will branch very well as it grows, based on what I have seen with our 1 gallon pots of Blushing Peach.

Charlie I was a little unsure myself as to what I thought was 2 and 3 grafts, but I have sent a new clearer picture showing what I think is a root stock and a scion on Blushing Peach, very happy to be wrong but I have never noticed this on the cv's before.
Good job I am not a betting man as I would have lost a lot of money haha, anyway very pleased that I am wrong.

I agree, it does look similar to root stock and scion, but in this case it isn't. Grafting is a time consuming process that requires special handling afterwards so I would never graft Blushing Peach which roots just fine.
