I have a home daycare. Today was one of my daycare kids' last day as he is starting preschool next week. Look what arrived today from his mom. This made my day. Smiley

Romeo fades so fast that it's really hard to capture its opening colors. Also Lady in Waiting and Bessie--a beautiful double whose metallic red-orange color is hard to capture in a picture.

Charlie, I was just wondering if you have used Lady in Waiting for hybridizing and if so does it set seed.

Thanks, Patrick

Hi Patrick,

I don't have records of seedlings that were not kept but among those I have kept only Goodbye Girl has Lady In Waiting as a parent, and that was through use of pollen. OTOH, both parents of LIW set seed so it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

AWESOME blooms everyone!  Shocked

A huge monsoon thunderstorm blew in out of nowhere this afternoon and soaked/shredded most of my outdoor blooms  Cry   Saved the ones I could... Fortunately, no causalties or broken limbs on the plants themselves.

Battered bloom survivors (from today): Tahitian Princess, Tahitian Taui
Inner Compass
Tahitian Princess (pretending to be Amber Suzanne)
Sunshower

Fabulous photos everyone!  I love this time of year.

Deb and Denise a special thank you to you for posting that first pic of Inner Compass which by the way is just stunningly beautiful and the conversation around your Ay Caramba Denise.  Because of your photo I realized that I planted my IC in a bad spot and it was already touching the bottoms of my peach tree branches.  So I had the idea thanks to Denise that my Ay Caramba which was in a real hot afternoon spot that the two should be switched.  It was so meant to be and totally the right move as IC is a huge plant already over 4 ft tall and AC just wanted a shady, cooler spot which will also let it's blooms last way longer without severely fading.  Great stuff!

Well I finally finished all my huge planting projects yesterday so again I apologize for all the pics as I am playing catch up for the week here.  I do my best to edit down the number of pics quite a bit from what I originally took.

Black Dream was off the charts with at least 19 blooms in one day!
