  Hi everyone,
I just got my first Dapled Shade bloom. My camera died this weekend so no pic.  The bloom has no crinkly texture. Is this something that only happens on some blooms or at certain times of the year? Right now it looks like Swamp Music.
thanks

Good question, Norm. Crinkled texture is rare in hibiscus, with Belle du Jour being the variety that we first saw it on and the one we have the most experience with. For sure with Belle du Jour it is a variable characteristic - showing mostly in hot summer weather. I suspect that will turn out to be the case with Dappled Shade as well. Please post some photos later this summer if you can.

 Thanks Charlie,
Below is a pic that is starting to show that bumpy texture thanks to some warm temps we had in San Jose. I must say I am really impressed with this hibiscus. The blooms have lasted 3-4 days and hold their color well with direct sun from early morning until about !:30.  Great job Charlie!

Thanks for the super photo. It appears to be living up to its name of Dappled Shade.
