Love all the hibiscus I see here .  I am thinking of selecting some hibiscus from the tried and true list to start a collection. Would appreciate it very much if anyone could share their experience. From where I am .... the weather is as hot as Vietnam with rains during the November and December periods.

Hi Tia,

Are you from Singapore? Should be a great place to grow hibiscus.

All the varieties on the Tried and True page can be rooted from cuttings. Some are more reliable than others but with perseverance and good technique all will root.

Hi Tia, I am David in Vietnam; I have made many contributions on this Forum over the last 3 years, have a look back and you will see many pictures of what can be done here in the Tropics. You and I will have similar conditions and we have a big advantage over the others on the Forum as we never have to worry about the cold and get growth and blooms all the year round, don’t worry about the heavy rains, the Hibs love it. You will face a few problems with the sun heat and a few different bugs but with different techniques you will overcome, and if you get stuck just ask, myself and a few others will be very willing to help and advice, as for cuttings well I have more cuttings than the original plants, some of my original plants from HVH have been gone for a while and there children are growing in there place, they do seem to adapt much better.
