Sorry Dave and Denise but I bet Charlie will have a decent supply of Prosperity in 2012. It is really a vigorous grower so it's probably one of the easier ones to grow more of. John you're right on with the consistency of the blooms. They go for 3 days usually and the colors just stay the same. Pretty much the only CV I have that can do that, even in summer. I leave them on till they literally just fall of the plant.

Today Acapulco Gold blessed us with quintuplets. Pretty cool how you can see the variations with each bloom. This is another amazing CV that I can't say enough good things about. It is now officially as tall as me at 5'9". A super duper bloomer, I have to get a shot of the branches near the top. There are as many buds as leaves forming. So much energy in this plant - it just goes!!!

Hi Lou, congratulations on that first seedling. Pretty darn good in my opinion. I'd like to grow it if you get to a point you are going to prune it.

Oh Darren- I actually love seeing the Prosperity pictures! Keep 'em coming! I should have bought it when I had the chance. Now I just have to hope you are right about Charlie having more! Nice shots of AG too. My friend has that one and I love it!! To me, it looks like a "classic" hibiscus. Big, bold & beautiful.

John your Compassion is just amazingly beautiful. That is such a soft beauty there, especially in the morning light. Makes me want one too... Denise love your Simple Pleasures. I hope it keeps blooming all winter long for you. Today is quite impressive with some real stunners!!! Finally getting some payback for the early winter weather. Beautiful, Darren. I was afraid the recent cold nights might have put a damper on your blooms but obviously not. We can often go to Thanksgiving with great blooms in southern CA.

7" on both blooms yesterday. As the weather gets cooler AC seems to get a lot more orange in the blooms which really makes it much more dramatic looking. Funny how some CVs go darker and others lighter with the cooler weather. This one is now pretty much in the shade 24/7 due to sun angle this time of year so maybe that too. Farmer D |
