Herm Geller

Does anyone have any experience with this CV?  Any information would be great!

Ol' Herm Geller. I grew it for several years in the '90's. My oldest photo of it is time stamped 1997. The flower is a big brown, rare in its time which made it a common show winner. The bush is not great - tends to spread and flop but it's not the worst of bushes. If you like browns and big flowers you would probably enjoy growing it.

Funny you should ask about this one right now.  I was just (only a minute ago) enjoying a photo of it that one of my Facebook friends have on their wall. I was curious about it as well.

I had Herm many years ago and i loved the plant, real striking, large bloom. dont remember any cons on the bush, though.

It sounds like this one would fit into the oldie but goody category   It looks like it seems to be pretty dominant in crosses though, lots of look a-like offspring.

Chris, I just happened to see this old post of yours on Herm Geller. I have a large plant that has been in the ground for about 8 years. It is a great bush with lots of very large flowers. Mine hasn't flowered for the past month or two so I don't have any pictures to show. I have plenty of branches for cuttings.

Thanks for the comments on this one Erny!  I planted this one at my parents house last year, it should be interesting to see how it does there, the blooms were always huge on it, which was really nice.
