Title: Venus Rising
Post by: farmer d on August 01, 2012, 04:57:35 PM
Another great new one from Charlie.   I got this as a 6" plant in April and it has been a strong grower and steady bloomer to date.  Interestingly the leaves now are some of the biggest I've ever seen on a hibiscus - larger than my hand now.

An updated plant shot.  It is now amazingly almost 6 feet tall which means it has pretty much doubled in size since June.

I got my first winter blooms for Venus Rising this week and it is one of those CVs where the cooler weather brings out a lot more bright and cheerful colors.  Just lovely!

Also the bush is now nearing 8 ft in height - lots of vigor in this plant...

This one just keeps getting better and better.  I think it has been underfed for years so I look forward to some very deep purple colored blooms.

Wow, Darren! Cindy sometimes suggest that I focus on one or the other of the red and blue flowers but I just can't do it! Each one has something a little different and among My Blue Heaven, Venus Rising, and Out of the Ashes I cannot choose a favorite. Thanks for posting these.
