Title: Bebop
Post by: helixturnhelix on May 22, 2011, 10:26:19 AM
Hi Charlie,

Would you consider "Bebop" a good CV for introducing more vigorous and better bush qualities into crosses?  A 14 foot seedling sounds pretty impressive!

As there can be a difference between seedling and cutting grown growth rates and size, have you found this to be the case with Bebop?  A more simple and medium sized flower, but sounds like a good one to hybridize with!

That's my question, too, about Bebop. I haven't made any crosses with it yet nor do I know how it will grow long term. 14 feet is a bit of wishful thinking, though. Cindy's phrasing "reaching for the ceiling" meant a 6 foot plant growing toward an 8 foot high ceiling. What I like most about the seedling bush is that it branched very well naturally with no pruning. This is rare and I am hoping to see the cutting grown plants do the same as they mature.
