This is probably one of the most unique doubles I have seen on your website.  I was bummed that I was having computer problems today and missed it.  Who are the parents?  Perhaps love story or candy manners?  I can't wait to get a hold of this one, it reminds me alot of those Tancho koi, that are pure white with a single red spot.  Hmmm perhaps we should keep Tancho as a name for a future seedling that is pure white and red :)  

Well I just got Raku, the patterns were way too cool to let up :)  Do you have the pedigree for this one as well?

Hi Chris, sorry but no bush photos for either of these 2. I will make it a point to take some soon. Princess Ka'iulani is very nice in 5 gallon pots - full with big leaves and great shape. If memeory serves Raku is taller and less wide but that may just be because I have several 8 inch pots that were allowed to grow without pruning. We'll see how it does after I take wood this summer.

These 2 are from a small group of seedlings that I hybridized before we moved from Valley Center to Fallbrook back in 2006. They were never potted up after moving but continued to survive in 1 gallon pots in an out of the way place in the greenhouse. I knew I had some decent new varieties among this group of seedlings and eventually found Raku and Princess Ka'iulani and propagated them. Better late than never and both have turned out to be special in their own ways. Unfortunately, by the time I found them the cross tags had faded to unreadable and I now do not know what the crosses were. Nowadays I take the time to print out a fade-proof tag for each seedling when it is potted into 2 gallon pots but back then we just used the original hand written cross tag which only lasts a couple of years.

This Princess continues to delight everyone who sees her - great colors somewhat reminiscent of once popular 'Red Snapper' but without the wild bush of RS. Should be some of these available in 2012, maybe in the next store update in early Feb.

I am disappointed that my plant of it last year wasn't doing well, so I cancelled order.  I wonder now if that was a mistake...  Thanks for the picture!
