Title: Geronimo
Post by: helixturnhelix on January 08, 2010, 10:42:34 PM
Hi Charlie,

How is this CV?  I remember I saw it once in the store last year, and am still kicking myself for not getting it.  It seems like it is very unique and could produce some nice offspring.

Geronimo is pretty unique. I like it a lot except that I wish it was not a mini so often. One of the first flowers of it I saw was about 7 inches and this strange reddish brown color that I have not seen since. We show photos of that flower at the bottom left of this page http://www.hiddenvalleynaturearts.com/acatalog/geronimoinfo.html

Geronimo has a lot of looks, some with metal-like substance embedded in the bloom, and makes a decent bush with lots of flowers. It will be back in the store as a grafted plant either later this summer or next spring.

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for the info.  I think it would be interesting to cross it with DB, since they both seem to have "dark" color genes.

Hi Charlie,

This is one that was lost, but one I hope to get back.  Are you still growing this one?

Yes, I still have Geronimo. I saw it bloom fairly recently but have not grafted any so far this year. It's a unique bloom and I will try to get some going soon.

Thats good to hear Charlie!  It was really disappointing to lose that one. so I am glad to hear that it will be propagated again.

Chris, I know how you feel about losing a plant, especially if it's one of your favorites.  Something is going through my collection right now, (microscopic mites I think) and I have recently lost Acapulco Gold, Bonnie Lass, and Torch Song.  Torch Song is the one that hurt the most, don't know if Charlie will have any more of that one. Unfortunately it looks like I'll lose a few more before this is over.

Thanks Dave, I am sorry to hear that yours are having mite problems.

Torch song is a big one to lose,  I recently acquired a small one and it has such large and pretty blooms, and excellent bush.
