For the past couple of years I've been looking for pots to bring a few of my hibs indoors permanently.  The problem is, I want those pretty, creamic, painted pots.  They're very easy to find, but I can't find any liners to go underneath that match them!  This especially seems to be a problem with larger pots.  The only pots that seem to be sold with liners are the terra cotta pots which aren't really what I'm looking to bring inside.  Anyone know of any websites or chain stores (or local stores if you're in the bay area) who sell nice pots w/ liners?

Jordan when you say liners do you mean the saucers to put under the pot ?

What size pots are you planing to put them in ? I think I have never seen saucers for big ceramic pots.
This is another reason why i never buy ceramic painted pots most seem only for plants that for not need drainage. I know you can drill holes on some pots but I am afraid to crack the pots
I found these very nice when I went to home depot they are not fancy painted ceramic pots but they are Colorful and nice. Some look ceramic and like stone but they are not.

They have ceramic but the ones I like are the HDR  molds

I think you can buy matching saucers I am going to go to Home dept later today i will confirm this for you.

 

Oh those are nice!!  The bigger the better, really.  I will pot them up when they're ready, and they'll end up in something around 20" pots if they get that big.

I had thought about the pots cracking when I drill holes in them too.  Haven't tried it yet with any of mine, so I'm not sure if drilling would end up in catastrophe or not.  :)

Ok I went to home depot and looked but they don't come with saucers . I did see some nice big ceramic pots that had a built in saucers.  You will probably have to go to a pottery warehouse or something if you want more selection. The all in one pots where I believe 16"? some where a nice size.

The  southern patio pots looks so nice though they had a bunch at the home depot.

That's too bad they don't have saucers.  I've even thought about getting nice pots I like and then spray painting saucers to match.  Hopefully it won't come to that but who knows.  I'm really weird about matching stuff... must match exactly!

If I have to use pots with holes in them, I buy them one size bigger than I want, put plastic liners down INSIDE the pots, and pot the hibiscus into regular plastic plant pots. So the water catchers don't show.  Then to be doubly certain I don't have problems, I even duct tape up the hole in the bottom of the pot sometimes. If water goes over the plastic liner, the ceramic pot will catch the overflow if the hole is covered up well. Good trick for people like me with bad aim with the water!

Jordan I went to Home depot last week and these HDR pots I posted about by souther patio they had more sizes, shapes , and colors ! So it looks like they are getting popular.

Good!  I had hoped they would develop them more.  May have to go get some now.  :D
