Title: suede buttons
Post by: helixturnhelix on August 13, 2009, 11:29:45 PM
Hi Charlie,

I really like the unique purple ring around the dark eye, very similar to jazz.   Parents Orville Davis and misfire don't really have this unique feature, i wonder where it came from?  at any rate really unique and interesting bloom imo.

Suede Buttons is a super cute little bloom. Perfectly round, flat, and heavy textured. I've always thought the purple ring came from Orville Davis, which shares this feature with its parent Wallflower. Those two can look identical at times although Orville becomes almost orange in hot weather while Wallflower does not change as much. Check out the photos to see what I mean.

Oh I see the resemblance now, I must have a seen a very different picture of orville davis, your pictures really show how the eye was inherited from parent to parent.  I bet it is a traceable trait, since the ring is found in the offspring from wall flower ==> suede buttons.  If you want a cv with that eye, and different color schemes, it is probably only a matter of time till the desired combination occurs.
