Title: Moving from California to Texas in about two weeks. HELP! Post by: Eriana on August 06, 2016, 09:35:01 AM I am moving cross-country and I am getting so much mixed info about if I can take my plants with me or not. Has anyone moved into TX with Hibs? These are the only plants I will be taking, but I have a lot of them. We don't want to rent an open trailer just for plants if they will be confiscated. Also, I was hoping that wrapping them in some sort of plastic or cellophane made for plants would keep them from too much wind damage. It will be about a two or three day trip. Any advice/knowledge/ experience is welcome!!! I will be devastated if I have to leave my entire garden behind. :(

It never would have occurred to me to worry about taking my plants with me! Have always done it. We transport them packaged the same way we would for shipping. Post by: Cindy on September 06, 2016, 05:50:04 PM As far as we have heard, Calif has restrictions on plants coming in but TX does not. You will for sure want to protect the plants from wind while on the highway or they will be terribly wind whipped with much leaf damage. If you can box them it would be best, or use an enclosed trailer.
Lots of people grow hibiscus in TX but most of the HVH customers live in the Houston area and other places near the Gulf coast. Best of luck! |
