Hidden Valley Hibiscus Forum

Pleaze do not laugh at me; I am an old lady whose mind has retired to FL and left me behind.  I am baffled.  I just inventoried all my hibiscus fertilizer, etc and found a bottle of hygrozyme.  It's label is not informative so I googled it and  found some rather uncomplimentary blog entries about it.  I do not remember where I heard about it and/or what it is supposed to be for.

Does anyone know anything about it or what I might have been thinking about when I bought it?  I'm wondering if it had anything to do with the mysterious death of some plants from symptoms that match nothing on this site, a problem that continues to plague me (yes, maybe over watering a year ago, but I think I have the hang of that now)

We won't laugh at you, feel free to ask all the help you desire.  Look how much you have learned so far.
Hydrozyme is an enzyme that is mainly used in hydroponics.    If you were to walk into a hydroponic grow store you will fine a ridiculous amount products to use that are worthless.     The thing about hydroponic grow stores is the salespersons will try to sell you anything and everything and will tell you lots of stuff you want to hear so they can get your money.   
An enzyme can help assist in chemical reactions near the root zone and is difficult for me to explain.   In this case, bad microbes and disease that can come from the root zone are suppose to break down and turn into nutrition from the hydrozyme.         
Products like these target Cannabis growers.      It is a huge and growing business that involves mucho bucks and this is one of the many products out there for the hydroponic market.   Everyone seems to have a different opinion about hydrozyme. 
I do not know if you should use this product or how much to use because it's really for hydroponics and I'm not familiar with it.
Did this stuff have bad effects on your hibiscus?  Likely not, but I guess it would depend how you used it.   It can alter the PH of the soil.      Hydrozyme may actually help the roots and benefit the hibiscus to.
Be careful what you add into your soil as it can stay in the soil for a long time possibly doing bad things.  Hibiscus hybrids can be fussy so know what your giving them and determine for sure if they will benefit from it.
I'm glad you asked about hydrozyme and questioned if you should use it.
I think that if you use a fine potting media that contains worm castings, or compost, and organic matter you won't need to use hydrozyme.    Take care of the roots and the rest should fall into place.
