Hidden Valley Hibiscus Forum

I have a lot of Hibiscus plants(just bought 2 more from here 8)). And I have one plant, my oldest of all, that lost all of it's leaves from being sunburned and as you can see they are growing back. It seems that one of my main branches isn't coming back fully now.
Should I prune it or wait until the fall? I don't want to shock it again. 

I'm waiting patiently for it to start budding again, haha :)

If it was me I would prune the main branch below the arrow. I would prune it 1 or 2 nodes from the bottom keeping in mind which way the nodes are facing so you can shape the plant.   
Hibiscus flower on new the growth.   Don't expect any buds to form on that big branch or any other old woody branches.  If you don't prune, new branches will need to grow off of the big branch and then those new branches will need to grow in and eventually bloom.
If you just prune the big branch, what will happen is the other branches will kick into high gear, receive more nutrients, and bloom quicker with potentially bigger more colorful flowers.   Then in a few months you can  prune the remaining branches to shape the rest of the plant.    Maybe by then the big branch that you pruned has grown in new branches and is getting ready to bloom.
I say this assuming it is summer where you live, you plant is getting some direct sun, has healthy roots, and that you have a few more months into your growing season.  You will be surprised to see how well your hibiscus reacts to pruning, especially if it's summer.     If there is a shock it won't last long and the new growth should grow in full of vigor.    After I prune, I'm careful how much fertilizer I use because the new growth is tender and can burn more easily.    Good Luck keep us posted

I would prune it, too. Theres still time for new growth to bloom in fall before the cold weather.

Thanks for the advice! I pruned it back and it seems to be doing much better already.
