Title: Expect Miracles Post by: farmer d on November 20, 2012, 02:52:38 PM My favorite days are when I get a first time bloom and it is much more than I was expecting. I don't think I was expecting any sort of miracle for this one to be pretty but I must say it is a very pretty bloom. One of those that so far seems hard to capture the colors just so on camera but sure is fun trying.
Also for such a young plant to put out such a high quality bloom and in mid November with the weather not being all that great anymore hopefully speaks to great things to come for this cv. Thank you Charlie for a really awesome creation with this one. I am assuming these are the more winterized colors which are just gorgeous - swirling oranges, pinks and a hint of yellow with some very fine ruffling. I got it by my front door and hope it stays just so until Thanksgiving to greet our guests as they arrive. This is one of those hot tropical blooms that stands our really well. Somewhat surprisingly, your late fall bloom is less intense or perhaps just a lighter shade of orange compared to the summer photos I have of this one. Still very striking, but the summer colors are darker and even more intense, as this photo shows.
