Hi Charlie,

attached is a photo of a great plant that i had years ago. it along with others were destroyed in my greenhouse when a tree fell on it, in the dead of winter.

this CV was hybridized, i think, by Gorden Howard.

i would like to get another one, it was a spectacular plant. per chance do you have one hanging around that is looking for a new home.

Hi Louis,

I'm limping along with an old computer at the moment while my usual one is in the shop, so am late getting back to the forum. The web site and online store exist on a dedicated computer that is not used for anything else so I can't touch that one. If anyone has written to me without getting an answer that is why.

Evelyn Howard is a big flower, too, and quite nice in many ways.  I have one older plant of it somewhere I think. Once it blooms again and I locate it I will graft a few plants of it. Maybe one will be ready this summer if I find it early enough. As I've mentioned before I have one section of the greenhouse with hundreds of 1 of a kind plants in it. Unfortunately, I've never been able to organize it and it continues on as a "nice surprise" area for the time being. Evelyn Howard is in that section so we shall see what happens.

That was Charlie writing, but logged in under Cindy's user name by accident. I've got a bunch of root stock that will be ready to be grafted onto in February so I'll see about it then.

I know I saw Evelyn Howard bloom last year but have yet to find her again this year. When I do I will graft some plants but we are looking at fall or spring before they would be ready to go.

yes vin extraordinaire! Sounds like it has a good growth habit for those of us who have limited space.

It reminds me a little of acapulco gold

Yes, but Acapulco gold is brighter, while Lucille has a hint of brown in the colors. That made it very popular with some but not so popular with a lot of people who go more for the bright tropical colors.
