Venus Rising is much like Brassy Blonde in that it really gains a lot more color in winter. I am in love with this latest bloom.

Darren I'm amazed at the incredible bloom festival you are still getting in December from plants that are growing outside.
Here's a perplexing bloom of Bright Horizon that I posted in the Hibiscus Mystery Game section of the forum. It's nearly 8 1/2" and I checked the tag to make certain of its identity. The thought of it being a sport entered my mind until I saw a similar bloom on a different branch a few days later.

Hi Dave - don't worry about your Bright Horizon, I just had a bloom today and it is very similar to yours. Just those winter colors....

It is interesting to see what the effects of winter can do on the plants. My Scarlet Beauty now has trouble opening up her blooms...
On the flip side Chariots of Fire is slowly filling out after over a year of thinning out. I have been concentrating on really getting the roots going. It is a slow but rewarding process...

Here is an interesting shot of four branches that all had dry rot. They are from my Rainbow Sherbet plant. These were all 7 ft up and in the middle of the top where the sun angle is probably too low this time of year to hit them directly. My guess is the nightly dew doesn't dry quickly enough.
