  Hello all,
I plan on giving my hibs some microbe brew tomorrow. It is also time to feed them with some special blend food. Is there a problem mixing these together in the same bucket? Will they loose their potency?
thanks

Hi Norm,

Most microbe species present in the microbe brew do not like potassium salts very much, including potassium nitrate which is the main ingredient in special blend.  Mixing the two together will not affect the potency of the special blend, but will likely kill most of the beneficial microbes in the solution.  If you are interested in using microbial or mycorrhiza products, you really need to eliminate salt based fertilizers (even high quality ones like HVH) from your fertilization regime.  They should be replace with fertilizers without these salts.

Hope this helps!
