Pink Poodle, normally a double, has similar color and is fragrant though a smaller flower. One with a lighter color than this particular photos shows but also big and similar in look is Janys. Otherwise, I can't think what it could be. Do you know?

Hello Charlie, thats why you are the top in your business, yes its Janys. i received some cuttings from Longwood Gardens many years ago and had this nice specimen, again i lost it. it was about 4 years old.

Longwood Gardens had Janys. How about that!
I've lost mine now, too, but have some nice photos of it blooming its head off back in the 90's. I should try to get it again since there are not too many lavender flowers that large. The bush was a little soft for my taste but not terrible.

hi charlie,
not sure if you have been to longwood. they have one greenhouse dedicated to the hibiscus. all mature bushes, probably 10+ years old. its a delight to see

I haven't been to Longwood but may have sent them some plants a decade ago. One of our oldest customers lives near there, too, and has talked about to me before. A quick search shows that Longwood Gardens Library ordered the HVH cd in 2003. I would very much like to visit one day and see their hibiscus now.

hello charlie,
you can visit longwood and be pleased any time of the year. however june or july is the best, with the waterlilies blooming and the hibiscus at their best.
